Little tidbits of everyday

I finished reading How to keep house while drowning by KC Davies last Friday. Very appropriate since depression has been winning over the last few weeks.

Yesterday I bought two tubes of my favourite toothpaste since it was discounted. When I went to put them away, I found I already had two backup tubes. Maybe I should do a list of backups so that I won't buy more?

Blooming trees are one of my favourite parts of spring. Too bad it's so cloudy that we barely see the sun this days. Maybe I'll find the motivation to go for a walk despite this.

Everything is fine and dandy but we're not stopping the antidepressants yet… Oh, well. I guess stable but could be better is not enough.

I had a lovely day with friends and their kids today 😃 A good weekend altogether — hopefully it will be a good start of the week.

I'm waiting for a haircut — I donated my waist lenght in July and decided to wear my hair short since then.

It's Fat Thursday in Poland, which basically means that everybody eats pączki — donuts filled with jam, that have no hole in the middle. I already ate one so far 😃

Generally speaking, I had a really good day today.

Some people see food mostly as pleasure. To be honest – sweets excluded – I consider it more of a chore that has a tiny bit of reward towards the end. Shopping, cooking, trying not to let stuff expire is something that has to be taken care of regardless of situation and since I live alone, I can't dump that on another person.

I'm working from home today due to ongoing construction in my office building but it seems that my neighbors didn't finish their renovations yet. It would be fine if I knew where my earplugs are.

We had two beautiful snowy days but it warmed up tonight so I guess the rest of the week will be that awful cycle of melting and freezing that causes dangerous snowy mud.

I learned about friend's engagement half a year and at least one meeting after it happened. Well, I wish I were surprised.

I just finished working for the day — roughly 2 hours later than normal, but print files are waiting at the printing house's e-mail despite some big disruption during the day.

Had brunch with high school friends and their kids for the first time in over half a year. It used to happen every other month, so I hope we'll get back to that tradition :)

It feels a bit like the day has slipped through my fingers (is that a Polish only idiom?) but in a nice way. I feel kind of sleepy so no being productive for me today, I guess.

I felt like I had to much adrenaline at work, mostly caused by deadlines. I wish I could rest during the weekend, however a few hours of overtime seems to be necessary.

I might have just told a colleague: “Let’s change this part of the sentence, it makes me think of that ancient heresy and probably shouldn’t be printed”. Life is sometimes funny that way.

Went to my healthy spine fitness class after 2 months break. Wonderful feeling – my short stretching sessions at home every few days we're definitely not enough.

Two math teachers in my family debate how to divide bread: ‘I thought you'll take the smaller half’. Yeah, the common meaning of words gets even the best of us 😆

We spent over an hour singing Christmas carols with my family today. Combined with helping kids make art, playing indie computer game with my brother, and other stuff this made for a wonderful day. Also I've decided that those statuses count for journaling in my habit tracking app.

Waiting for the Mass to start and then I'm spending at least 24 h staying with my family. Looks like the weekend should be great 😃

Travelling to meet with a friend 😃 So far I every day of this year involves spending time with people I really like. It won't be possible all the time but I'd like to keep the general trend.

I spent New Years Eve embroidering and talking with my best friend and her fiancé. The best kind of parties. Happy New Year, everyone!

Don't ask me about history of #typography (or really European history at all) unless you are ready to get several photos of book pages on the topic or several links. Well, those who ask usually know me well enough not to be surprised.

Resting and socialising with friends and family is the best part of taking time off around holiday.

Had a nice walk listening to Polish podcast about theological aspects of #Tolkien 's writings. One of my goals for 2024 is to read The Hobbit and #LotR in English (I've always read translations before).

Staying with family for Christmas. Today there was a lesson on bringing back a ball for our dog — unsuccessful, they couldn't do an effective demonstration

Jumped back onto omg.lol with some new enthusiasm. Hopefully next year will be less stressful and I'll be able to actually do some of the projects I came up with.

The school trip season has began. I can hear one group after another right outside our office windows. At least it's still too cold for street musicians.

Work finally slowed down a bit, however after Easter it will be madness again.

Victory! I started playing with genealogy a few weeks ago and nobody knew the maiden surname of my 2x great grandmother (2 eldest sons out of wedlock with different family surnames). Thanks to my dads' notes I found her cousin's marriage document which confirms the surnames and allows me to say that I found the marriage of my gggrandma to the father of her younger kids. #geneadons

I'm going to the zoo with friends so that I can say that I didn't spent all Sunday with my nose in the phone.

Just accepted proofs from the printers' house and therefore a big project is finished! Yay

I took my sewing machine out today. Had several repairs to do and a pair of mittens to finish. It's all done and I hope to work on other unfinished projects soon.

Let's be real, we all sometimes catch ourselves singing the theme song from a childhood cartoon while cooking breakfast or walking, don't we? No? Oh, well... “Oto Tabaluga, dzielny Tabaluga...”

Am I ill or just feeling crappy? That is the question.

I woke up an hour too early, left the house without my eyeglasses and gave myself a bruise with doorhandle. It's gonna be a great day for the creative and focus-demanding work ahead of me.

Our #UrbanSketchers meeting had twice as many people as we said in the reservation. The waitstaff wasn't amused but we had great time.

Very happy news today!

Writing down the expenses over the last month. Putting more order into my private life has taken a lot of weight off my shoulders. Not dealing with things doesn’t help much just pushes the issues further down the line.

Slightly stressful day at work today (deadlines on the horizon) but the afternoon with close friend yesterday and tidier flat are doing wonders for the peace of my mind.

Body doubling is a wonderful phenomenon – having a friend present while you do some chores helps a lot.

Walked 22 km — most of the trail was terribly muddy due to melting snow.

Going on a hiking trip for the weekend.

I'm an optimist on antidepressants. Today depression is winning.

Have I steeped my elderberry tea for 3 hours already? No, that would be stupid of... Oh...

Leaving for work soon – I'm thankful I can walk there getting a little exercise each morning.

Prepping for pilates class - one corner of the room is tidy enough.

Had great evening with friends who fed me fantastic lasagne&🍷

I got new bookshelves so I'm reorganising instead of preparing to sleep.
