Meditating on loving kindness and slowly realizing that wishing for happiness for all beings does not require being personally responsible for the happiness of all beings. As a life-long people pleaser, this is both liberating and also going to require a lot of processing/contemplating.

It’s 98° F (36.7° C) in my garage gym, so while I wouldn’t say I half-ass’ed my workout just now, I definitely wouldn’t say I whole-ass’ed it either.

Spent some time this evening cleaning up my blog and homepage links. Still having a few CDN and propagation issues, but feels good to make some progress!

There needs to be a "Parents Mode" for sleep apps. Each morning, instead of yelling at me for not "prioritizing my sleep," I want an app to be like, "Bro... That was rough. Kids are hard. You've got this. I promise they'll sleep and you'll sleep, eventually."

Kiddos woke me up at 2am and then promptly went back to sleep. I, on the other hand, am now wide awake. Using the opportunity to finally set up a #bookwyrm account (@hiro@bookwyrm.social)

Wrapping up a night of bouldering followed by fresh tacos. Life is good!

Trying Taiwanese pastries for the first time, hhhhomg they’re good. I think my life will be divided in to before I tried Taro Cream Bread and after.

Just finished reading SC Gwynne’s Empire of the Summer Moon — absolutely fascinating history, especially for a native Texan. (That said it is an alternately gruesome and shameful tale, and really calls for just about every trigger/content warning imaginable!)
